Morten T. Hansen is a renowned leadership expert. Thinkers50 has ranked him as one of the world’s most influential management thinkers. Hansen is also the co-author of the New York Times bestseller Great by Choice (with Jim Collins) on how businesses can thrive in uncertainty and author of the acclaimed book Collaboration describing how managers can overcome silos in a company and create real value from working across the organization. Formerly a professor at Harvard Business School and INSEAD (France), he is now a management professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He has a PhD from Stanford Business School, where he was a Fulbright scholar. Morten Hansen was also a senior manager at the Boston Consulting Group where he advised corporate clients worldwide.

Hansen’s award-winning research on leadership, collaboration, innovation and corporate greatness has been published in top leading academic journals. He has written several bestselling Harvard Business Review articles and his work has been covered by Business Week, Fortune, New York Times, The Economist, among others. Stuart Russell

Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, UC-Berkeley Leading expert on artificial intelligence, robotics, and ways of getting and using biological data.

Stuart Russell is a pioneer in the understanding and uses of artificial intelligence (AI), its long-term future, and its relation to humanity. He also is a leading authority on robotics and bioinformatics.

Stuart Russell is the author or coauthor of three books on knowledge, reasoning, and machine learning, including the standard textbook on artificial intelligence. Stuart Russell is a professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC-Berkeley and Adjunct Professor of Neurological Surgery at UC-San Francisco.

Artificial intelligence. AI is a machine’s ability to perceive its environment and use that information to maximize its chance at succeeding at some goal. All of the technologies behind artificial intelligence are evolving at exponential rates and are just now beginning to rocket up the curve. Soon artificially intelligent machines will be doing things we can barely conceive, in virtually every area of human business, life, and culture. Few people understand this future better than Stuart Russell, who wrote the standard textbook on AI (with coauthor Peter Norvig), now in its third edition.

Robotics. Stuart Russell is also a leading researcher in the practical applications of machine intelligence. If AI is the brain of the machine of the future, the robot is its body. Robots are taking over more and more functions that once required a human actor, with far-reaching consequences — and opportunities — for people, businesses, and society as a whole. He has focused recently on the threat of autonomous weaponry.

Biological information. As an Adjunct Professor of Neurological Surgery, Stuart has been researching computational physiology, with a current focus on Intensive Care Unit monitoring systems. He is a leader in the development of technologies that make sense of biological data and that apply this information in ways that advance human health.

Credentials. In addition to the positions already mentioned, Stuart Russell holds the Smith- Zadeh Chair in Engineering at UC-Berkeley and is Vice-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Council on AI and Robotics. He is the recipient of many awards and held the Chaire Blaise Pascal in Paris from 2012 to 2014. He is a researcher at a number of research centers, including the Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research Lab (BAIR), the Berkeley Center for New Media (BCNM), and the Synthetic Biology Institute (SBI). He is the founder and Vice-President of Bayesian Logic, Inc., a data analysis start-up under contract with the UN to build a new Nuclear Test Ban Treaty global monitoring system.

Maciej Kranz

Vice President, Strategic Innovations, Cisco Systems

Maciej Kranz brings 30 years of networking industry experience to his position as Vice President, Corporate Strategic Innovation Group at Cisco. He leads the group focused on incubating new businesses, accelerating internal innovation, and driving co-innovation with customers and partners through a global network of Cisco Innovation Centers.

Prior to this role, Kranz was General Manager of the Connected Industries Group at Cisco, a business unit focused on the Internet of Things (IoT). He built a $250M business from the ground up in 18 months and relentlessly evangelized the IoT opportunity across Cisco and the market, making IoT one of Cisco’s major priorities.

Previously, Kranz led efforts across Cisco to define, prioritize, and deliver Borderless Network Architecture and roadmaps. He also drove business and product strategy for the wireless and mobility business and led product management for the stackable Ethernet switching business unit through its expansion from $400M to $6B in revenues.

Before coming to Cisco, Kranz held various management positions at 3Com Corporation, where he drove a $1B Ethernet network interface cards (NICs) product line. He began his professional career at IBM Corporation.

In his New York Times Best Selling book, Building the Internet of Things, Kranz offers practical advice to business decision makers on how and why to implement IoT today. He formed a thought-leadership forum and newsletter to exchange industry insights on IoT developments. Kranz is also a faculty member of Singularity University, focusing on IoT and corporate innovations.

Johanna Malan

Vice President, Enterprise Information Management & Information Security, Sasol

Johanna Malan is the Lead Data Officer with Sasol. She has +20 years of consulting experience mainly related to large-scale Technology Change Programmes within Accenture, South African Revenue Services, BHP Billiton and Sasol. She holds a BA (Psychology) degree from the University of the Pretoria.

With extensive experience in managing and understanding the complexities of large-scale change programmes, her main role on these programmes has been to define the change journey and manage the integration of the relevant change into the organisation. Her experience reach across various industries, namely government (National, Provincial and Local), resources, energy and telecommunications, functional experience resides within finance, logistics, CRM, Revenue Management and HR. Working with all levels in the organisation with extensive experience working with executive leaders in organisations.

In recent years, Johanna worked with the newly important CIO in Sasol and defined the new IT Operating Model and supporting organisation. She developed the Journey road map to implement both. Addressing brutal facts, quick wins and long term operational efficiencies. Out of this a new Data Organisation was established in IT as per the CIO vision. Something that was not in place before. She took on the Lead role for establishing the function and establishing the enabling technology platform. This drive was coined as #freethedata. This was successfully rolled out and on the back of the Sasol Digital Strategy they got approval for a company wide Data Strategy and the roll-out of this into the organisation. Her passion lies in managing large-scale technology change journeys. She believes that #freethedata will make trusted and timely data available in the hands of Sasol people, making it Sasol business owned data. Driving out agile sprints to deliver business value, delivering it through devops principles and methods leading to self-service sustainable data capabilities in the business. She believes that this will generally help to improve conversations and decisions at all levels in the organisation. Without data we are all just left with opinions.

Johanna is passionate about paving the way for the next generation workforce. As it is such a strong dynamic, with new energy entering the market… it can only change everything we know today.

David Berglund

Senior Vice President, Artificial Intelligence Leader, U.S. Bank

David Berglund joined U.S. Bank in 2017 and he serves as SVP, Artificial Intelligence (AI) leader. Mr. Berglund oversees the development of the Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning practice within the U.S. Bank innovation group including oversight of strategic product development, product innovation, strategy and transformation efforts.

Prior to joining U.S. Bank, Berglund spent more than seven years at Optum (a division of United Health Group, UHG). Most recently, he led AI within Optum's Advanced Technology Center, which included developing the enterprise AI strategy, building the R&D team’s emerging technology platform, and establishing a strategy for the company's Innovation Intellectual Property. David held multiple prior roles at UHG including the first of two Entrepreneurs in Residence, Director of Portfolio Management, and Digital Product Developer. Berglund has lectured at the Wharton School and he received his MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN, and Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University in Chicago, IL. Berglund, who co-founded Hoodstarter, an AI-powered web platform focused on economic development, resides in the Twin Cities, where he is highly engaged with the local startup ecosystem.

Gary Class

Senior Vice President, Strategic Business Analysis, Wells Fargo

Gary manages the Strategic Business Analysis team in the Virtual Channels Group of Wells Fargo. His team works closely with senior management to develop and execute detailed analysis of customer behaviors, leveraging a variety of data sources, to drive business case and business strategy decisions. Additionally, his group develops econometric models of the key customer behaviors the bank needs to monitor and manage: retention, cross-sell and revenue growth.

Hagen Rickmann

Managing Director Business Customers, Telekom Deutschland GmbH

Hagen Rickmann was appointed Director Business Customers at Telekom Deutschland GmbH in March 2015.

He joined Deutsche Telekom in 2009 and went on to hold various management positions within the group. Starting as Head of Portfolio and Innovation Development of T-Systems Enterprise Service GmbH, he became Director Service at T-Systems International GmbH in 2011. From 2013 onwards, he was responsible for the Group’s global corporate customers as Director Sales at T-Systems International. Prior to his time at Deutsche Telekom, Hagen Rickmann worked as Managing Director at the EDS group. From 2002 – 2009 he held various management positions within the group. Until 2007 as Managing Director and Member of the Board he was responsible amongst others for Consulting Services Central and Northern Europe. In 2008, he managed the supply organization of IT infrastructure services in Northern and Central Europe.

Born in 1969, Hagen Rickmann began his professional career in 1992 as a customer advisor at Deutsche Bank in Hamburg. After receiving his MBA degree he worked at the Management-Consultancy Esche Schümann Commichau. In 2000 he changed to DONE Project AG as CFO. Hagen Rickmann lives in Hamburg, is married and has 3 children.

Oliver Ratzesberger

Chief Operating Officer, Teradata

Oliver Ratzesberger is chief operating officer of Teradata Corporation, reporting to Vic Lund, president and chief executive officer. Mr. Ratzesberger has global operating responsibility for Teradata’s operations and leads the company’s strategies for go-to-market, products, and services.

Mr. Ratzesberger has an extensive background in analytics, big data and software development.  Prior to Teradata, he worked for both Fortune 500 and early-stage companies, holding positions of increasing responsibility in software development and IT, including leading the expansion of analytics at eBay.

A pragmatic visionary, Oliver frequently speaks and writes about leveraging data and analytics to improve business outcomes. His new book with co-author Mohanbir Sawhney, “The Sentient Enterprise: The Evolution of Decision Making,” was published in 2017.

Oliver earned his engineering degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from HTL Steyr in Austria, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. He lives in San Diego with his wife and two daughters.

Martyn Etherington

Martyn Etherington is chief marketing officer for Teradata, reporting to Oliver Ratzesberger. Responsible for all aspects of Teradata’s corporate marketing strategy globally, as well as brand and digital programs, Martyn focuses on the creation, delivery and follow-through of the company’s strategic marketing goals, strengthening its brand and enriching its customers’ experience.

Martyn has a distinguished track record of driving top-line results, growing market share, improving customer experience and enhancing brands. Before joining Teradata, Martyn was chief marketing officer at Cisco Jasper, a global market leader for IoT connectivity management. Prior to this role, Martyn served as executive vice president, chief marketing officer and chief of staff for Mitel where he was responsible for driving global marketing.

Martyn has been recognized by the Economist as one of the Top 25 Social Business Leaders, by Forbes as one of the Top 50 marketers, BtoB Magazine as one of the World's Best Marketers, and The Internationalist as one of the top international marketers.

Based in San Diego, California, Martyn earned a National Diploma in Computer Science from Northbrook College, United Kingdom, and served as the chair of the School of Business Advisory Board at Portland State University.

Karen Thomas

Executive Vice President, American Sales and Services, Teradata

Karen Thomas is executive vice president of Americas Sales and Services where she is responsible for sales, solutions services and go-to-market transformation for the Americas region, which includes the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Karen has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of sales, consulting, finance, and information technology. Prior to this appointment, she was vice president and general manager of the Bay Area and California region. Previously, she held multiple roles at Teradata, including area vice president, U.S. Western Region, sales director for Canada and roles in finance, operations, marketing and customer service with Teradata Canada.

Karen holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree, from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Peter Mikkelsen

Executive Vice President, International, Teradata

Peter Mikkelsen is executive vice president of the International organization, reporting to Vic Lund. Peter is responsible for growing sales and services for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, Japan and China.

Prior to this role, Peter was vice president and general manager of Teradata’s Northern, Central and Eastern Europe Area (UK & Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech, Poland, Hungary Russia, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland), as well as Managing Director of Teradata Denmark. In this role, Peter was responsible for Teradata’s overall business in the Area including responsibility for sales, professional services and support services.

During his career Peter has held a number of different sales and marketing positions, including management positions with both EMEA-wide and global scope.

Based in Copenhagen, Peter holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Copenhagen University.

Mark Culhane

Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Teradata

Mark Culhane is executive vice president and chief financial officer for Teradata, reporting to Vic Lund, president and CEO. Mark leads Teradata’s financial organization and is also responsible for IT services, enterprise risk, and global operations.

Mark is an experienced leader who has served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of several transformative, cloud-based software companies. He has scaled and shaped organizations to support and sustain rapid growth, and has led and managed numerous financings via IPOs, venture capital, debt and follow-on offerings, and has directed and driven strategic acquisitions. He currently serves on the board of directors of cloud software companies, UserZoom and CallidusCloud.

Most recently, Mark ran Culhane Advisory Services, counseling management teams at venture and private equity-backed cloud software companies on financial strategies, financial reporting, go-to-market strategies, and supporting and scaling growth. Previously, he has served as SVP & CFO at Lithium Technologies and as EVP and CFO at DemandTec. Mark has also held CFO positions at iManage and SciClone Pharmaceuticals, and worked in the audit practice of Price Waterhouse.

Mark is a graduate of the University of South Dakota and holds a CPA certificate from the State of California.

Mikael Bisgaard-Bohr

Vice President, Business Development International, Teradata

Mikael Bisgaard-Bohr is Vice President Business Development for Teradata’s International Region and a member of the International leadership team. In this role Mikael is driving Teradata strategy for the international region, which includes countries such as China, Germany, England, France, and Japan. Being responsible for driving Teradata growth, Mikael is specifically focusing on identifying new market opportunities, and identifying data-enabled business opportunities for the largest Teradata accounts.

With more than 20 years of experience with analytic technologies, Mikael sits at the intersection of business and IT, understanding both business and technology needs, which enables him to align both worlds and drive value at our customers.

Having worked with some of the leading organizations across the globe, and having experienced first-hand how they have successfully deployed data-driven strategies across a range of functions, Mikael has a unique understanding and perspective on how global leaders are leveraging data and analytics to compete better in their markets.

Previously, Mikael was responsible for the Teradata global go-to-market strategy, and prior to that, he ran Marketing and Business Development for Teradata International. Before that Mikael was a thought leading business consultant focused on the retail industry.

Mikael holds an MBA from SDA Bocconi and lives in Copenhagen with his family.
